POST CHRISTMAS HAUL

I'm sure like many other people I spent some time after Christmas checking out the Boxing Day sales (online though - no trudging the high street!) I didn't see loads I wanted but have got a few things on order :)

I've been after a trouser suit for a while and saw this one from New Look so thought I'd give it a go - plus a lovely crossover top and some chunky boots. I love New Look for shoes as I can actually fit into their size 8...

From Asos I just got some little silver hoop earrings and a simple black playsuit which should go with a lot of things, plus an Adidas backpack for carrying my laptop around. I also got a leather one from Topman so I'm planning to see which I like best and send the other back... I don't know how big the leather one is though so it could turn up and be tiny!

I'm heading back to London tomorrow, kind of looking forward to normality after the Christmas break! I need to get some commissions on the go, things have been a bit slow due to the holidays. Although I just secured a few days running on a film shoot so that should be fun!

THE WICK FESTIVAL / CHRISTMAS

On Monday I had a stall at The Wick Festival inside Winterville, Victoria Park. I was selling illustrated goodies plus Christmas cards, paper and decorations. Although it wasn't quite as busy as I'd have liked, I had a really lovely day and got chatting to lots of the people who came along plus the other stallholders. I'm going to try and get a regular slot or two in 2015 so I can sell on a regular basis. I also want to branch out with handmade illustrated clothing too..!

I've been back home in the West Midlands for Christmas, it's been chilled so far and I've made my first Charlotte Rousse with my Dad!

HANDMADE CHRISTMAS

I love making Christmas gifts for people and have been saving Christmas foodie gift ideas over on Pinterest like mad! I've had a go at the projects below, which seem to have turned out well...

There are so many homemade things which are really easy to make (and much cheaper than buying) plus you can get creative with the packaging too. I'm going to design and print my own labels and tie with string.

ACCENT MAGAZINE

I was recently asked by Accent Magazine to illustrate titles for their latest issue. I love the layouts they've created with them! They get a different illustrator to create the titles for each issue and the others are lovely. I also went to the launch party last night in Shoreditch for a few beers :)

CRAFTY WEEKEND

I'm always slack with my Christmas shopping so hit a few fairs this weekend to get some alternative little gifts :) I went to the Hackney Flea Market in Abney Hall, which had some lovely stuff (they also hold the DIY Art Markets there)

Then I stopped by the weekly carboot at Princess May Primary School, but people were packing up as I got there a bit late, but there are loads of sute little shops in Stokey so picked up a few bits along the way...

Then finally I went along to the Illustration Fair in Hoxton Arches, it's probably one for the more serious illustration/art fans as it's a fiver to get in, but there was some great stuff there too - a big part of why I went was to see the Christmas turkey entrance mural, painted by one of my favourite illustrators Louise Pomeroy. I bought a couple of bits from here but it was SO busy so really difficult to see everything properly.

That was all on Saturday, then Sunday I went to the Roman Road Winter Festival stalls (right in me' neighbourhood) and then went to Entrigue Emporium fair in Shoreditch, but this was a lot higher end items and a bit too expensive for little gifts so didn't buy anything, but there was some beautiful jewellery, taxidermy and handmade accessories.

Then I have my own Christmas fair on Saturday with Dandy Lion at the Sir Richard Steele. I've been getting everything ready over the last week or so, with some more bits to do this week... excited for my first one!

NEW WEBSITE

I'm very happy to finally unveil my new website!

I designed it and got it coded by Tom at Leapwing Design (highly recommended) and it's exactly what I was hoping for. It's so nice to have something custom :) Hope you guys approve!

Also.... my Christmas cards will be for sale from tomorrow, through my website shop and Etsy.

LATELY

I haven't posted in so long, sorry about that! I've been working a lot, visiting family back home, organising Christmas stock etc... unfortunately the fair I was going to sell at in Peckham was cancelled, so instead I'll be at the Dandy Lion Market in North London. I'll have Chrsitmas cards, wrapping paper, prints and lots more :)

On Sunday me and Matt went along to the Leeds book launch of 'From the Leylands to Leeds 17', a Jewish history book which I illustrated the cover for. It was such a lovely day and it was held in a Synagogue with lots of people very kindly complimenting the cover! I got my own signed copy too ;) It's so lovely and strange to see a design you've done in print, as opposed to seeing it just on screen.
